Course Description: Withof is a fine bobbin lace that is part of the “Cut Thread” category of laces. The lace is made in parts with fine thread. One part is completed, and others are added by sewings to finish the piece. Withof has a very distinctive feature. When one part is completed, a “roll” is done around the entire piece creating a raised edge before other bobbins are sewn in to complete the piece.

Skill Level: Intermediate, Advanced

Prerequisite: Students must have a good knowledge of lacemaking. This is not a beginning lace class. Students need to have a knowledge of terms and have completed several intermediate-level lace pieces in different types of lace beyond Torchon.

Second Camera: A good quality image is necessary – so you will need to use a good camera close over your work and/or to take photos and send them to Kathy.
