Course Description: This lecture series will provide an introduction to the field of textile conservation, with a focus on both preventive and interventive conservation approaches relevant to lace makers and collectors. It will also examine the role of the curator, encouraging discussion around exhibition planning, thematic development, and display design. In addition, participants will be introduced to alternative materials and techniques for mount making, appropriate for both the display and long-term storage of lace.
