Instructor: Susan Lowman
Course Description: Filet Crochet Lace is the art of making pictures with the use of open and closed mesh. It is similar to Filet Lace, which is made with a needle, however, it is much faster and easier to make with a crochet hook. Filet Crochet Lace is great for making doilies, centerpieces, tablecloths, insertions, edgings and much more. In this 4-hour class, you’ll learn the basics of Filet Crochet (open mesh, closed mesh, lacets and making “square” mesh) while making a Filet Heart Coaster. You’ll learn to read a Filet Crochet chart, which is required to follow charted Filet Crochet Lace patterns. Then you’ll feel confident tackling any basic Filet Crochet project you see!
Skill Level: Beginner, Continuing Beginner
Prerequisite: Must know basic crochet stitches and be comfortable working with crochet threads, along with small steel crochet hooks. Must know how to read and follow written crochet patterns and/or symbol crochet charts.
