Kit for Christmas Dorset Button Bauble

This kit accompanies the "Christmas Dorset Button Bauble" workshop.

Course Description: Every Christmas I design a Dorset Button using several different techniques. Five years ago, I designed this Christmas Bauble and over the years I’ve received a number of requests to repeat this design. It is a challenge for anyone who already knows how to make a Dorset Button using the Cartwheel design. This button uses four different techniques - beading, working in two different types of yarn at the same time, attaching a third yarn and finally, adding ribbon, and worked over the last two stages of making a Dorset Button, the Laying stage (adding the spokes) and the Rounding stage (filling in the button).

Skill Level: Continuing Beginner, Intermediate

Prerequisite: You must have some experience making a Dorset Cartwheel button since participants are asked to complete the first stage, Casting, before the workshop. We will start with threading the beads before the Laying stage (forming the spokes).

Kit Description: The kit includes a 72mm ring, star beads, silver yarn, mohair thread, colored metallic thread, ribbon, and needles.

Students Must Provide: A sharp ended needle threaded with white sewing thread, scissors.
